The R-6 GTX Ws has anti-slip qualities. The slip protection provides the outsole the necessary grip for firm footing during the workday.
Thanks to its special profile design, the LOWA® PATROL provides exceptional support and very good grip even on challenging terrain. Its sole design combines heat- and cold-insulating qualities and is antistatic. It is resistant to oil, petrol and contact heat as well. The sole profile is also self-cleaning.
Thanks to the two-zone lacing system used in the R-6 GTX Ws, the forefoot and upper have their own separately adjustable lacing zones. As a result, the shoe can be individually adapted to the anatomy of the foot and laced in different ways for ascents and descents.
The year of 2023 marks a milestone in LOWA’s history. The shoemaker is celebrating its 100th anniversary. It is the perfect time to look back over the last 100 years and bring the company’s history to life.

The R-6 GTX Ws is footwear onto which the outsole has been directly injected. This manufacturing technique creates an exceptionally precise and very strong bond between the sole and upper.
Lightweight
This process uses a plastic called polyurethane. It is a very lightweight foam padding.
Cushioning
The plastic called polyurethane is a foam padding that has very good cushioning properties. The plastic retains its form and springs back to its original condition even when its millions of tiny bubbles are frequently pressed together. This, in turn, creates a good rebound effect.
A wide range of design options
Thanks to direct injection, the sole can be designed in a very large number of ways. The multifaceted properties of the materials used enable the shoes to be effective in a broad number of areas.
No matter whether you simply enjoy nature and spend your leisure hours outdoors, or cross fields, forests, and mountains: LOWA is at your side – from outdoor adventures through to more challenging expeditions, always reliable and aware of our responsibilities.
More …With the LOWA MONOWRAP® frame, the midsole of the R-6 GTX Ws provides the very best comfort. This three-dimensional midsole design was developed by LOWA in 1995. The frame comfortably cradles the foot and support it when the shoe wearer ventures across uneven surfaces. The sole design is slightly raised for shoes with a SUPPORT FRAME.
Good guidance for the foot
The foot is optimally nestled into the shoe thanks to the frame’s three-dimensional design.
Increased comfort
The special midsole design ensures snug footing in the shoe. The foot is pleasantly cradled by the three-dimensional frame.
Lightweight
The LOWA-MONOWRAP® is made of a plastic called polyurethane. It is a very lightweight material.
Stitches and material overlaps are eliminated in the R-6 GTX Ws thanks to the use of large pieces in forming the upper. This reduces the possibility of pressure points, a feature that enhances comfort.
To ensure perfect fit, the lasts used for R-6 GTX Ws have been specially designed with the anatomy of women’s feet in mind. The last plays a key role in the ultimate fit of a boot. Women’s feet have less volume than men’s feet. As a result, the instep height and the ball area of these lasts have been altered.
The R-6 GTX Ws is equipped with lacing hooks with a closed design. They guide the laces very securely and keep them from getting caught upon contact with objects.

Polyurethane (PU) is a soft plastic that has very good cushioning properties and is usually used in the midsole as a result. Through the use of PU, the soles become lightweight and functionally flexible.
Polyethylene is a semi-crystalline and non-polar thermoplastic resin that is, by far, the most widely used plastic in the world. Polyethylene is used in part as a component of man-made fibre/blended fabrics. It is used primarily to create comfort and insulate the foot from below.
Our natural and synthetic fabrics facilitate optimal warming and moisture management with the help of their usage-specific characteristics. Thanks to their structural design, they are smooth and make our products extremely comfortable.
Felt is a textile fabric that is made of disordered fibrous material that is difficult to separate. The textile fabric is characterised by its high elasticity and its insulating qualities. As a result, it is used in particular as a component in insoles and as an insulating divider.
Full-grain leather offers the very best quality that leather has to offer. It consists of various types of leather whose grain side is processed on the outside, regardless of the strength of the natural grain of the animal. The qualities of the leather can be smooth, structured, grained, embossed or shrunk. Full-grain leather has open pores and may be used for many years if it is properly cared for.
